Put 3lbs on in 1st 2 weeks! =O

Got weighed this morning - first time since I started dieting 2 weeks ago.  Apparently I have put 3lbs on =O  I have no idea how.  I have been having 1200-1400 calories a day and doing plenty of exercise.  Cycling 3x a week.  Skipping.  Plenty of walking.  100 sits up a day.  I’m not as upset as you might think cause tbh I’m more like ‘what the heck’ than anything else.  I am going to go and weigh myself on different scales in a different store at lunch.  Everybody has been commenting on how I have lost weight so it just doesn’t make sense.  I know muscle weighs more than fat but I haven’t done enough exercise to make that the reason.  My period is not due till Sunday so that shouldn’t be causing any bloating or anything.  I’m wearing jeans, but they’re not proper jeans if you get me so they aren’t heavy enough to make a difference.  So I have come to the conclusion my body is just weird and I have to try even harder *rolls eyes*.  Definately going to try the different scales though because the ones I used this morning are only just back working, they were ‘out of order’ for 3 weeks so maybe they still are?  *Holds on to some hope*.  No wonder so many women are unhappy in the world, God should have made us either all fat or all thin then we could all be happy :(

Chinese take-away calories PLEASE HELP!!!

Every Friday is ‘take away’ night in our house and I’ve decided not to opt out of it because I believe in giving yourself a treat once week.  Nonetheless, I don’t want to completely over do it!!  I’ve searched on all the calorie counter sites but they all say different thing, so do any of you know what the best thing to get from the Chinese is??  I know people tend to opt for chicken and brocolli - but I don’t like Brocolli!

I was thinking maybe chicken in black bean sauce or chicken chop suey - but I don’t know how many calories are in them.

All suggestions and calorie counts welcome (fyi: I only like chicken :) )

Thanks on advance - Sophie xx

Serious Buddy Wanted

Hey all,

I’m looking for a buddy to share tips and advice with.  Also, like to offer support to each other.

I’ve had buddys in the past who chat for about a week and then disappear.  I’m looking for someone for the long term - to email several times throughout the day, become online friends etc. I’m serious about dieting and always thinks its easier if you speak to someone/know someone in the same situation.

I’ve got 1 stone and 10lbs to lose (24lbs) to gain my so-called ‘ideal weight’, but the likelihood is I’ll still want to lose more after that.  I used to be 13 stone 2 (184lbs) and 3 years ago lost just over 3 stone (42lbs) - so I’m no stranger to dieting, but unfortunately the weight has been creeping back on for a while now.

I’m 18 but am welcome to female buddies of all ages, I hope to hear from you soon! :)

Day 1 - Newbie!!

Well here we go, dieting…AGAIN.  Quick run down about me: When I was 14/15 I was just over 13 stone (185lbs) and decided I needed to diet.  I was successful and lost 3 stone and 4lbs (46lbs), taking me to the smallest I can ever remember being: 9 stone 12lbs (139lbs) -( I know my math is terrible). Anyway, I met my partner who i’ve been with for 2 years now and my weight soon crept up to 10 stone 10 (150lbs) and I’m now 18 and desperately want to lose weight!!!!!!

Anyway, today is day 2 - and so far so good - I just hope this diet doesn’t fail like all the others I did this year!!  My problem is trying to fit more exercise in.  I walk 10 mins from the car park to work, and then the 10 mins back everyday - and walk enough when i’m shopping at lunch but thats about it.  I try and do sit ups everyday though.  Problem is I don’t get in till 6.30pm and by that time I’m shattered - in the summer I went out on the bike for an hour, but the weather is really preventing me from doing that now.  But I will try the best that I can. I need to start thinking about ways to tone up when I get rid of the fat as well!!

I’d be really interested to hear of everyones tips for both dieting and exercising.

My tips of the top of my head would be:

Low calorie (options and highlights etc) hot chocolates - only 30 cals and really stop those chocolate cravings.

If you’re missing ‘dessert’ stick a low fat yoghurt in the freezer and eat is as a yummy alternative to ice cream!

Make fresh vegetable soup - any veg, tin of chopped tomatoes, fresh garlic and chilli, tiniest drop of low fat oil and vegetable stock.  There is only about 60 cals per bowl and it really is so yummy!

Pamper yourself!! If I feel like i’m going to cheat i jump in a nice hot bath and give myself a really good pampering - then i feel good about my skin etc and it makes me want to stick to my diet to feel good about my body as well!  Sounds strange but I swear by it - always works!!

If I think of anymore I’ll let you know :)
